DESCRIPTION OF DOCTUPUS
An Octupus for docs: This is a teacher-built tool for scaffolding, managing, organizing and assessing learner projects in Google Drive. The teacher can mass copy from a starter template share, monitor learner progress, and manage, grading and feedback for learner’s projects in Google Drive.
Doctupus copy and “hand out” Drive files to a roster of learners, giving teachers a complete control over starter template, sharing configuration, folder organization and file naming and visibility over all work done. This will include bulk cancel and retrieve learner editing rights around submission deadlines, as well as the ability to fetch word, revision, and comment counts on all learner files.
Doctupus is built by Andrew Stillman. Doctupus is built with teacher workload in mind, taming complexity and unlocking the power of Google Apps for differentiation and collaborative projects. By using Doctupus the learner collaboration increases and enables a powerful shift in teacher workload. The teacher is able to control and assess writing tasks and projects that motivate rich, authentic learner production and collaboration for an example the development of key career, college and 21st century skills.
